We had the good fortune of connecting with Defrizto Canton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Defrizto, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me it was about being able to have more control of my life and schedule. It was also about having a talent and figuring out how I can use said talent to create an actual business. Accountability is another one, when you work for yourself you are responsible for the outcome in most cases.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been a DJ on and off for about 17 years now. I have done all types of events throughout my time in the industry. It wasn’t easy as I stepped away from it professionally for a few years. I was motivated to return with a situation that transpired at the job I was working at. From that point which was around 2019. I started to lay the groundwork for my return to the industry. I continued to work during the day while working on getting back to djing. I started to gain momentum as I started to do a few events. Everything was trending up until 2020 when Covid put a temporary halt on djing. I continued to collaborate with people online and did tons of livestreams and would creating clips to post online showcasing what I can do. Once things started to open back up I was off to the races. I continued to work during the day while djing at night. As of 2025 I am now back to djing full time as I am no longer working a regular 9-5 job. I learned that you have to be patient and build relationships with people along the way. It will make things a lot easier.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are plenty of things to do in South Florida. It would depend on their interests. It’s always been a tourist attraction so I would definitely recommend outdoor activities. Beaches, boats, jet ski, and anything else water related. The night life of course what South Florida is known for. I would recommend Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Bars, clubs, and restaurants. There are some many people from different places so you never know who you’ll run into.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to acknowledge all the people who has either gave me advice, motivation and/or opportunity to do what I love to do. There are many people to name so I will use this to thank them all.
