We had the good fortune of connecting with Demetrios Christopoulos and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demetrios, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Clearly any success we have achieved is from being attentive to the customer’s needs. When I was younger and more immature I had made it more about me. The older seasoned me knows now to make it about “them”. I try to tell my staff that the best service model we could pick is the waiter or waitress. Are we on time with filling the need, pouring the water into the glass, approaching them soon enough after they make their presence to take note of what they want? Everyone has been waited on, you know how it feels to be taken “care” of. Perhaps your tip might be in proportion to how much “care” you received. Funny how “care” is more important than the talent you are dispensing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What you should know about me and my group is that we have a creative potential just waiting for clients bold enough to push forward with living at exciting new levels worthy of 2020. Being innovative and cutting edge does not necessarily cost more. I am designing a starter home for a young couple that bought a lot out west. Its made of wood so the husband who is a carpenter can build it himself. It is frugal on material costs and sits up off the ground so it can be moved to become a guest house later or sold to a neighbor. I have totally new ideas for homes of the near future and yet I can design a very normal home or renovation that can please everyone. With maturity you know its about them, we don’t force our tastes upon anybody. We listen. If we are awarded the job, we draw plans intended to get them what they want. I have a very refined side as well, and if the client wants to pull out all the stops, I have no limit to what I can do………..but I am not a snob……….I will find solutions for low-budget projects as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Have you all heard of Peanut Island in Palm Beach? I like taking my friends to that island in the middle of the wide intracoastal for a picnic and ripping through the bay on my 2008 Yamaha GP1300R Jet Ski. If Platforms retro 80’s disco re-opens in Boca Raton, we would be dancing to Rick James’s “Super Freak” song one weekend night for sure. Then going to one of South Florida’s awesome Argentine Tango Milongas on another night. Heading southward we would party along all the clubs on South Beach. Next, grab a bite to eat at the Big Fat Greek Restaurant in Dania. We would towing the jet ski so we could descend to Key Largo and Marathon Key. Its not unusual to jet ski right next to dolphins there !! The bars and restaurants are so much fun. South Florida is a paradise wonderland, We are so lucky to live here !!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
O.K…….this might be unconventional…………but back in about 1986 I was walking troubled through a park in Gainesville, Florida while attending the University of Florida. A park ranger introduced me to the I-Ching and showed me how to do the 6 coin tosses. We read my divination reading much like people who do Tarot readings but the energy from this seemed much clearer, lighter and fuller of light. Supposedly its all based on synchronicity (Carl Jung) and that there are no accidents, you attract your next lesson and scenario. I tossed the coins constantly until about 2007 when adversity had become so intense that only physical strength and endurance rather than understanding became the most necessary. The I-Ching is incredible. The body of knowledge called Macrobiotics has helped me navigate my food sources in yin and yang energies to be able to surmount incredible adversities so far. Sometimes I abused the knowledge of yang foods so much and became so strong I partially tore ligaments in my body.
