We had the good fortune of connecting with Desana Moses and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Desana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always had a passion for fashion and designing so once I was involved with the influencing and advertising, I decided to start my clothing line wholesale and make it an online business with my audience and followers, which was very successful to where now I’ve opened up a brick and mortar in the Washington DC area

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
so going in as a entrepreneur is never easy. You always are taking risks, but I always say to myself take that risk or you lose the chance so when I transitioned over to a brick and mortar October 2024, I didn’t know what to expect however with advertising and marketing, social media and all of the different avenues you have now to become successful. You just have to put the work and the content in and the consistency and you’ll definitely succeed. There’s a lot of competition out here but do something that stands out. I find that natural organic every day lifestyles get the most traction because people just wanna see you and the natural you so always be yourself. Don’t give up stay consistent and keep pushing yourself. There’s always room for improvement and elevation just in general in life, that’s my motto to keep things going business and personal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
so if my best friend was coming in town, I would definitely take them to go get some great food in the DC area. There’s so many cute little restaurants now so I would try out maybe Mediterranean or do like a nice Greek restaurant I would also have them tour the Washington area by the monument take them to a couple clubs for the nightlife And really show them the enriching parts of the DMV area

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to say my family who’s always pushed me and had my back and of course, my man who is my partner and my rock who pushes me to elevate myself all the time, my biggest supporter, and we work great together as business partners, so I would definitely give the credit to my family and my man for motivation encouragement And for filling goals with a purpose so I appreciate my Village
