Meet Destiny The Curl Goddess | Curly Hair Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiny The Curl Goddess and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Destiny, what do you want people to remember about you?
My legacy is the one I am building right now I believe. I found my passion when I was 14 years old. It all started with me embracing my natural hair. Growing up, us curly girls know how hard it was to embrace our natural hair because we had no guidance and the correct knowledge of doing so. I grew up where relaxers were the only solution, but as I was getting older, I wanted to start embracing what I had instead of hiding it and damaging it. I started doing intense research and as I was going along my journey, I knew it was more than just hair to me. It gave me a different feeling as if I was connected and aligned with what I was doing. I felt like there was a purpose to why I was doing what I was doing.
People know me as the Curl Goddess and someone who specializes in curly hair, but it’s more to it than just that. I have a lot of passion for what I do, and I look forward to helping the next person and changing someone’s life with the knowledge I know with curly hair & passing that down. I have a curly hair business where we strive to embrace women empowerment and make changes in the curly hair community. I understand in the community we all have questions where we are seeking answers, and little by little I’m able to connect with clients and make that change for someone. My goal is to have people remember me as a woman who is working really hard to get to where I’m going with a purpose in changing lives.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is creating beautiful curly hair! I’m a curly hair specialist and I have multiple services that help women embrace their natural hair such as curly hair cuts, treatments, hair regimens, safe coloring, and braiding services. My salon isn’t only about coming in and getting a curly hair cut, I really push to keep it an environment of self love and self care.
It was not easy to get to where I am today. I’ve been in the industry for about 6 years now, and one of the biggest challenges I faced was jealousy and competition. You’re going to come across haters that don’t want to see you succeed and prosper. but that’s all part of the plan. You have to just keep pushing through and not let others take you down. Stay true to yourself no matter who tries to come against you! My business has a purpose and I will keep pushing through because love conquers all things!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve been embracing a new journey of my life so I focus a lot on self care things. I would love to take my friend to Fabel down in Miami. It’s a very zen enivironment. Great people, great vibes, and great drinks. I would love to have a nice spa day, hit a nice beach club like nikki beach, and hit up a nice restaurant like Spruzzo in West Palm Beach.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The biggest shout out I want to give to is God, my family. and my clients. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. God is the one who gave me the vision and the purpose and I’m going through with my calling. My family is my biggest support system. My grandmother is always keeping me focused and guiding me to remain humble as I keep going up the ladder. And of course my amazing clients. Thank you for always reposting my work on social media, referring me to friends and family, and sending out my information to new potential clients. I couldn’t be any more grateful and blessed and I deeply appreciate it.
