We had the good fortune of connecting with Deuce Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deuce, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Success is a progressive realization of a worthy ideal. Earl Nightingale

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I grew up playing the cell starting at the age of 6. Most of my upbringing was in classical music, but my sisters and I would sing R&B, opera, contemporary pop, rock and some gospel music… ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE! It was actually a musical every day. I did a lot musically, with my cello performing all around the city of Washington at all sorts of events and functions. From the time I was in middle school I found myself involved in poetry club, and remixing some songs from the radio. I eventually started to hear full songs, back up vocals, lyrics, melodies, harmonies, instruments and more – all in my head. The only way to get it out was to record it in a studio, so that’s what I started to seek out. I know I have a message and for my music to be heard people have to know me to a certain extent.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beach is always my go-to spot for sure! I am a beach bum! I love the ocean. I would definitely have a few blunts as part of the itinerary, no matter where we’re going… hahaha, facts tho. Definitely out in nature somewhere; I love parks, preserves and sanctuaries.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a wonderful team that I’ve been so fortunate to form, and so blessed that my team is happy working with me. From traveling to different venues, getting me ready, prepared visually, vocally, mentally, physically! It’s all the work that leads up to the performance, the album drop… whatever the “big event” is, the lead up work and the team is what really makes it all happen. So, my team loves me, I love my team. BIG shout outs to Malik, J, Piff, Amber, Brooks, Armani, Farmer Jack, Jackson Greene, Owen Rivers and Waffle Butt aka G.Rider, aka Greg the Belgian Boy
