We had the good fortune of connecting with Dexter Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dexter, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve started and own a few businesses but this one in particular I seen a need and trend that was catching on so I decided to jump on the train. The 360 photobooth business is growing and competitive market and I decided that it would be a great fit to my portfolio.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from other businesses in this niche is that I bring myself, and my personality to all of my events. I love getting the guests up and involved. Often times the 360 photobooth is the main attraction so I have to bring the excitement along with it. It’s one thing to have a booth and be an attendant but it’s another thing to be able to relate and bring the fun with you also. I’ve always had an entrepreneur spirit even as a kid I’d cut grass, wash cars, sell candy, whatever it was I had to do to make some money. It hasn’t been easy getting here, especially starting from scratch in a brand new city and state, but I definitely want the world to know the name Dexter Smith because I’m here to stay and make a beautiful impact on the world and the people around me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I have people in town I love to take them to the beaches. Rather Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, or Hallandale, I love for them to see and experience all that Florida has to offer, I’m originally from Las Vegas so the nearest beaches are in California where the water is pretty cold. The warm water here is just so much better and the beaches are beautiful. As far as hang out spots definitely like to go to Wynwood or Fort Lauderdale, there’s a lot to do and more chill crowd.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and friends always pushed me to do better. My woman is the one who’s been in my corner the entire time rooting me on and driving me to always do better and be better not just as a businessman but also as a person. We motivate each other in that aspect. I’m sure you guys will hear about her soon and her business (Sugaring By Tasha).
