We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Boga and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Growing up with an immigrant family, I realized the value of having a good work ethic. My parents came to America for new opportunities, and watching them struggle and doing whatever they could to make sure their children were successful and got a good education, instilled these values in me. When life knocks me down, I get up and try 10 times harder. Having extraordinary determination, an optimistic attitude, and an eagerness to succeed has allowed me to keep going.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Entrepreneur- Starting at just 21 years old running a pizza shop in upstate NY, I knew I had a vision, to be the BOSS. Management skills, and a drive to do more has lead me to where I am today. I don’t like keeping all my eggs in one basket. From owning a pizzeria, tanning salons, a makeup artistry company, a property company/apartment building, a nutrition business, a catering company, and now the wine bar/restaurant, I realize I never like to feel complacent. I am always striving for more and am always up for a challenge. No, it wasn’t easy but I have learned from my mistakes and used them to improve where I can and realize the ups and downs of the journey along the way has gotten me to where I am.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well of course I would take them to my new restaurant “DUA Champagne and Wine Lounge,” in Lantana, FL. We have an amazing selection of shareable appetizers, premium caviar, delicious flatbread pizzas, desserts, along with an amazing selection of fine wines and bubbly. I would definitely make sure to have them explore Florida’s beautiful beaches, along with the many venues and places that host live music. I love visiting the keys, kayaking, or just walking on a busy street bar-hopping.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my loving and supportive family, for always being by my side, my significant other John, who supports my crazy ideas and decisions and puts in so much effort to make my dreams come true, and all of my friends who are continuously rooting for me
