Hi Diana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always always had and entreprenurial spirit, especially coming from a family of small business owners, but the decision came when I was working for the School Board of Broward County and working late hours on a daily basis. My husband, best friend and partner in business, Robin nudged me to step out on faith when our son, who is Dyslexic was having a hard time in school. I barely had time to help him with homework and provide the extra attention he needed to be successful. Being in business for ourselves allows me much more flexibility to help with homework, attend eveents and advocate for our amazing kids in a better way.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

In Florida, we in what we insurance call a “hard market.” Rates are higher than usual, the options in terms of carriers are lower as insurers have left the state and the capacity for certain types of coverage is limited. This presents a unique opportunity for insurance agents as we adjust to become problem solvers more than anything. Some days I feel like I provide therapy for my clients who are stressed by the demands of increasing living expenses and the stories that I hear about families having to potentially sell their homes because they can’t afford their insurance break my heart. Handling a business at this moment requires creativity, positivity and a good support system. The most important thing for my community to know about our franchise is that we are in this buiness to take care of those around us. We care about the things and people you need to protect and we are in business to help our neighbors and friends do that in the best way possible.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I was born and raised right here in Sunny south, Florida and although I spent a lot of summers my youth in Jamaica, where my family comes from, I love everything we have to offer. When friends and family visit, I always take them to Wynwood to see art and feel the vibes. The food options are also endless! Almost anywhere you eat is a new experience. We also vist the Hardrock and stand on the bridge over the parkinglot to watch the world famous guitar light show. If its a family with kids, we take them to the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and we might even buy a groupon for a scavenger hunt walking tour of the city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Broward Mom Collective has truly been my tribe. We are a supportive group of moms, dads, aunts, etc that work together to provide resources for the community. On days when I struggle I can reach out to them for a quick pick me up or a word of advice. Actually when I started, Annie and Rafeea would text me an affirmation everyday and it really helped me to push through. The website also has list of literally every resource you can think of in Broward County, from the best brunch spots and events for the family, to where to get a free mammogram. This is the help that need families need to be successful, honestly we all need to to function. I would also like to shoutout Veronica and George Mora of Nexus Funding Solutions. When we decided to start our own business, they encouraged us in the option to go with insurance and help us in purchasing our forever home.
