We had the good fortune of connecting with Dianna Grace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dianna, why did you pursue a creative career?
It was my only choice. It has been a natural progression of following my gut. As artists we’re told that a career in the arts is a risk, but I was concerned about how I wanted to live my most honest life. I came to the conclusion that life is too short and I was not built for a career in an office. Currently, I am pursuing my MFA and starting a business to incorporate my sculptural works.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My professional career is still in its infancy. I’m about to graduate with my MFA in the Spring of 2021. It hasn’t been an easy journey, but dedication and hard work have made everything possible. I have learned that no matter what, you cannot give up. Push when you’re feeling down and push when you’re feeling good. You have to keep moving forward and never stop.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say to check out all the incredible art we have! The Perez Museum. ICA, Locust Project, The Rubell, The Dela Cruz, The Bass Museum, The Margulies Collection, etc. Hangout: Churchills, Las Rosas, The Corner, Lincoln’s Beard Brewery, Gramps

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shoutout to all my amazing professors at New World School of the Arts. The mentorship and support I received from all of them is invaluable. I am still in contact with many of them years after graduating.
