We had the good fortune of connecting with Pascal Okoh Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Pascal, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m originally from Nigeria, but I was raised in South Florida—specifically in areas like Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, and Oakland Park. That mix of African roots and American upbringing shaped my creative voice in a unique way. Growing up in Broward County exposed me to a melting pot of cultures, stories, and struggles, and that gave me a deep appreciation for real, raw storytelling. My background taught me how to find humor, depth, and resilience in everyday life. It’s also why I focus on capturing moments that are nostalgic, honest, and relatable. Whether I’m behind the camera or editing late into the night, my upbringing reminds me that stories matter, especially the ones that don’t always make the headlines.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is rooted in storytelling that feels real, raw, and nostalgic. I don’t try to sugarcoat life, I embrace the chaos, the beauty, and the humor that comes from growing up where I did. As a filmmaker and content creator, I blend documentary grit with modern internet culture, always looking to reflect what’s really happening in places like Broward County, where I was raised. What helped me get here was staying grounded in my experiences, trusting my creative instincts, and being surrounded by people who believed in me. One of my proudest moments was premiering my short film at a local festival and seeing a room full of people connect to something I made from scratch. I want the world to know that my brand is about documenting culture from the inside out, giving a voice to places, people, and stories that don’t always get seen the right way. I’m just getting started, but I know I’m building something meaningful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to town, we’re definitely hitting the Glitch Bar in Fort Lauderdale first. It’s a retro arcade bar with neon lights, classic games, and a laid-back vibe, perfect for drinks and nostalgia. We’d grab tacos from Quates Mexican Restaurant, or go thrift shopping at a local thrift store. Maybe even catch a local sports event at my school FAU.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shout out my family and close friends who’ve been in my circle from the jump. Your love, support, and honesty have kept me grounded. To my girlfriend, thank you for being my peace and biggest motivator. I also want to honor the friends I’ve lost along the way; everything I do is in part for y’all too. A big thank you to my longtime manager, who has believed in me since day one. My church has also been a major part of my journey—spiritually and creatively—and of course, I can’t forget Broward. That’s where I grew up. That’s what shaped my vision. Everything I create traces back to that place. Broward College and FAU for inspiring me. My current and past occupations have helped build my character and skillsets.
