Meet DJ Chizzle: DJ

We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Chizzle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Ive always had a passion for music my entire life. From knowing all the words to every song on the radio, to being interested on how Djs would mix songs together, it helped guide me to pursue Djing as a hobby. I bought my first set of turntables right before I went away to college, and havent looked back since. I never assumed it would turn into a career; but thats what makes music and what I do so special. Its always organic, passion, and love for music and DJing that motivate me each and everyday.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Some of my most proud achievements would be playing at top venues across the US and world including LIV, E11even, & Hyde in Miami, 1Oak in Tokyo, Daer South Florida, and many nightclubs in Texas, California, DC, Nevada, Hawaii, the Virgin Islands, and more around the nation. Another huge accomplishment is being the official tour DJ for Austin Mahone. We have performed in front of 60,000+ people at a festival in Madrid, and sold out arenas in Osaka & Tokyo, Japan. Being on tour is truly a lifechanging & motivating experience; especially being surrounded with such an amazing team.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Miami, I always take my friends to some of my favorite places to DJ, and show them the beautiful city we call home. If we are going to eat, I would take them to Komodo in Brickell for some food and drinks before we get the night started. We will start off the night in Wynwood at Racket or Coyo, and than make our way to South Beach. Once we hit the beach, we would go to Basement, Wall or the Faena to see the beautiful hotel and art at Saxony Bar. I would take them after to check out LIV, and than late night go to E11even. During the day, I make sure to take them to the Hyde Pool party, and the new guitar hotel, Hard Rock; where we go to the Daer Dayclub pool. There’s so much to do in Miami and South Florida. We are blessed to live where everybody goes to vacation.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank the entire DJ community; for helping motivate me to learn and grow everyday. You can truly gain knowledge by anybody, from the janitor to the CEO, you treat everybody with the same respect, and can learn from them. Listening is far more important than speaking; Ive always listened, gathered information, and created my own style using any knowledge.
