We had the good fortune of connecting with Dj Fade and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dj, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Across my life, my forward momentum has been sustained by insights gleaned from studying accomplished individuals within my industry. The common ones include cultivating self-discipline, maintaining steadfast consistency in projects, and fostering meaningful relationships. A notable skill of mine is cultivating organic connections.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an avid explorer in the realm of creativity. While my existing fan base is familiar with my proficiency in production and DJing, only a select few are aware of my profound passion for film and storytelling. I dedicate myself to the study of films and the art of storytelling on a daily basis, recognizing the powerful emotional impact that films can achieve through integration of characters, lighting, audio, and messages. Currently, I am eagerly anticipating the release of my first mini-documentary. My journey has been marked by relentless hard work and a steadfast belief in myself. I firmly believe that faith in one’s path is the key to overcoming any obstacle; with such conviction, all other challenges tend to dissipate.
I aspire for the world to understand that my mission has always been to effect positive change in people’s lives through my chosen mediums, whether it be music or film.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would guide them through New York, given its proximity to my location. Our journey would begin at one of my favorite Jamaican restaurants in the Lower East Side: “Omar’s Kitchen”. Following this, we would embark on an exploration of various tourist attractions, a pursuit I seldom find time for. Given that a significant portion of my social circle revolves around music, it’s likely that we would end the day by collaborating on music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Firstly, I express gratitude to God, acknowledging the entirety of my life’s journey with appreciation for both its highs and lows. Secondly, I extend recognition to my parents for their unwavering belief in me and the sacrifices they have made on my behalf. Additionally, I extend my thanks to everyone who has booked me or listened to my music, as their support serves as the foundation enabling me to perform and consistently enhance each show or production.
