We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominic Ferri and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominic, how do you define success?
Success has become such a subjective term in that some people think it’s financial freedom, others believe it to be social status.
To me, I believe it is love. Loving your craft. Loving the memories you make and the laughter you cause. And loving yourself. Once you achieve that, you are undeniably successful.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been doing magic since 2009 and specialize in magic, mentalism, escapology, con man demonstrations, and side show performances.
The journey getting here was and is still an emotional rollercoaster. Like any art form, it requires an exponential amount of patience, failures, and hard work.
I see myself, within 10 years from now, owning a small theatre and hosting shows and events.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to England, where there is so much history. Visit old castles and remarkeable scenery. It would be filled with lots of traveling. A couple would be Stonehenge, Tintagel, and Carmarthen.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate to my mentor Remy Connor who not only taught me performance advice but is always there whenever I was taking hits from life.
I dedicate to Matthew Hollinger. My best friend. Who is always giving me new percepectives of my life and boosting me up.
