We had the good fortune of connecting with Doree Farina, LMFT and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Doree, what do you attribute your success to?
The cornerstone of my success lies in several key elements: authenticity, consistent practice of what I preach, the ability to remain fully present, and cultivating collaborative relationships within my professional network. For me, the guidance and recommendations I offer must stem from personal experience and active application in my own life. This ensures that when I’m coaching or guiding others, I’m drawing from genuine, tested methods. Beyond the office setting, if my clients were to encounter me in everyday life, they’d find a seamless alignment between the person they know in sessions and the individual they meet elsewhere. This isn’t due to oversharing personal details, as therapy and coaching demand professional boundaries, but rather stems from a deep commitment to authenticity. Furthermore, I consistently engage in self-work to maintain a state of presence, allowing me to truly connect with and support my clients.”
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My private practice offers a unique blend of therapy and coaching services tailored to individuals, couples, and teens, specializing in anxiety, trauma, and PTSD alongside relationship dynamics. What sets my practice apart is my approach, which integrates elements of directness, playfulness, spirituality, and collaboration with clients. Central to my methodology is the belief in each individual’s innate capacity for healing, fostering a collaborative partnership where clients are empowered to lead their own transformative journey.
Throughout my career, I’ve realized that expertise alone doesn’t always provide all the answers. This realization has reinforced the importance of authenticity and collaboration, guiding my practice toward a shared exploration of healing possibilities. Building a business in this field has been a journey of self-discovery, challenging my beliefs and pushing me to reaffirm my commitment to my passion. It’s a path marked by continual growth, learning, and the occasional difficult decision, all driven by the unwavering belief that authenticity and connection are paramount.
Despite the challenges, I find profound joy in what I do. For me, success is synonymous with living authentically and spreading love and healing in the world. My ultimate goal is to serve as a beacon of authenticity and compassion, empowering individuals to embark on their own paths towards growth and fulfillment.”
