We had the good fortune of connecting with Doris Jucht and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Doris, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Since I was born, I was overweight and had a bad relationship with food. As a teenager, I went through several eating disorders until eight years ago. I had two daughters who have also suffered from food and weight issues for many years.
Eight years ago, one of my daughters had an emotional crisis because of her being overweight and I saw myself asking her to do things I couldn’t do to feel good myself. That’s when I understood that if I wanted to help my daughters, I had to help myself first. At that moment I decided to start a journey of personal transformation that led me to, not only help my daughters but also other people around me. I understood that this was my calling and that I wanted to dedicate my life to positively transforming the lives of other people who also suffer from having a bad relationship with food and with their bodies.
I became a certified Life and Health Coach and since then, I have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of people to help them, among other things, to stop managing their emotions with food.
What should our readers know about your business?
The most important factor behind my success: Having been the first testimony of my work and having gone through the experience of transforming my own relationship with food and my body weight in such a radical way, which included a total change of mentality and way of making decisions, is what fuels the passion with which I dedicate myself to each of the cases we work with. Each person is different, and each person has to be treated as an individual, who does or does not like, need or can benefit from different things than others. At RedsGoGreen we treat each case as unique and special and take into account the factors that lead each person to perform their actions and make decisions the way they do. This individuality and accompaniment is what makes the difference in the results because it generates sustainable and personalized changes.
I’ve learned that transformations are for those who want them and not for those who need them.
I heard this affirmation when I was working on a 12-step program called Over Eaters Anonymous. And it has been proven to be true every single time I talk to a potential client. A lot of people need a change in terms of lifestyle, but only the ones that are ready for it are the ones that pursue that healthier version of themselves consistently.
With the RedsGoGreen program, people get to believe and prove that is possible to learn how to achieve a healthy relationship with food without having to use food as a coping mechanism to manage our feelings and emotions.
It hasn’t been easy but we’ve worked really hard to make RedsGoGreen a way of living and a philosophy of life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1.- Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden including the Butterfly experience and Coconut Grove Day 2.- Day 2 – Little Havana and Vizcaya
Day 3.- South Beach with a 30-minute scenic flight over South Beach to bask in the scenery and some shopping and dining in Lincoln Road
Day 4.- Wynwood and Mid-Beach including murals and beach in front of the fancy hotels along with a walk at the Miami Beach Boardwalk.
Day 5.- Day Trip To Everglades
Day 6.- Perez Art Museum & Frost Museum
Day 7.- Fort Lauderdale Beach and Las Olas Boulevard
In terms of Restaurants… it’s so hard to choose from so many amazing options so I’m always trying to support local communities and businesses in the area where I am when is time to eat.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To Overeaters Anonymous for being the first step of my transformational journey, To my husband for accepting me at all stages of my process, and to my daughters, who inspire me to be a better person every day so I deserve such wonderful human beings to be part of my life.
