We had the good fortune of connecting with Dorothy & Cassandra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dorothy & Cassandra, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risk is inevitable when starting a business. You put your heart and soul into something with no idea of the outcome. Anytime you step out of your comfort zone and take a chance there can only be two outcomes; success or failure. With either one, one thing that’s guaranteed , is a lesson learned. We originally started off as a rental company with tables and chairs then quickly realized that we had a lot more to offer and tapped in to the balloon decor industry. With zero idea of what we were getting into, we still took the leap of faith and it has been by far the best decision yet. And as we grow, we are continuously taking risk and finding new ways to perfect our craft.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are bold and beautiful, just like our balloons. Our ability to turn a clients basic concept, into art with our accessories, is what sets us apart. We know we’ve done our jobs when our clients cry after they seen the work we did for them. Most companies try to master too many aspects of party planning and the fact that we focus our energy into balloons only, shows that we will give you a different experience. We got to where we are at professionally by, practicing daily, learning from masters in the industry and being open to change and what’s trendy. We want the world to know that this road was definitely not easy but worth every second. We have learned and grown so much professionally and artistically.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely let her know to not check out South Beach it is very over rated. But Wynwood on the other hand, has amazing paces to visit. Coyo is an amazing taco spot in Wynwood and it has a small lounge behind the restaurant. There are people dancing and drinking, it is just a chill vibe. Rok Bar in Fort Lauderdale beach has amazing drinks and fun people hanging around the area. Very friendly area!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Cindy Guance, owner of she nail’d it.
