We had the good fortune of connecting with Dowayne Richards Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dowayne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Not wanting to work for someone. Instead of doing grunt work and making someone else rich, why not do it myself with something I’m good at and something I’m genuinely passionate about. Working a 9-5 is okay I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that. I worked a 9-5 as a network administrator for a bank and credit union. There are perks to both but consistency, determantion and your mindest are what makes it all worth while.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most exited about just being able to express myself through my art. I’m always open to feedback. No, it wasn’t easy. I overcame all the challenges by simply following four simple words, learn, fail, grow, repeat. I learn from my previous experiences and photo’s that I take or computers that I build or put back together. Lessons I’ve learned crazy right everyone ain’t for you in the space you’re in. You gotta be able to trust people for who they are and trust that you can see them for who they are. I’ve worked with people that feel as though I should give them all the game after I’ve struggled for years to get to where I am and them not have to do as much as work as I did. You’ll lose a good friend and supporter by being too greedy. What I want the world to know is get your brand photography/videography and engagement/wedding photography/videography, or computer built by the best in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area. When it comes to lighting in both photography/videography a lot of people don’t understand that and how to manipulate light. When it comes to computers I’ll build you something or fix whatever issue you have or if you need something for your business I can build or fix that too.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I married her lol. Rent a house in Cayo Costa. Go hangout on the boat, jet ski’s, I’d cook or she would, hang out on the beach on the island and watch the sunset. Honestly ion really go out much in the city. I’m a father of four and a husband. But besides the good places in the city like Defy, Top Golf, paintballing, or going back to my home town to go fishing or mudding or catch up and with family and cookouts I’m good.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife, kids, dad, mom, and grandmother. They pushed me to go hard. I didn’t have anyone teach me how to be a photographer or computer guy. I learned it all on my own but they supported me and I’ve come this far. Even though I get on they nerves they still saw it through.
