Meet Dr. Antionette Edmonds | Licensed Mental Health Counselor & Marriage and Family Therapist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Antionette Edmonds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Antionette, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity and non-traditional therapeutic approaches are I the most important factors behind the success of my brand. Authenticity- I pride myself on being my truest and authentic self. As a licensed mental health counselor I try to align my who I am personally and professionally. Obviously there is still an expectation to remain professional in a therapeutic setting with clients, but I am still able to be myself. Whether I use profanity, a dark joke or prop my legs on my chair, I mirror the same behavior and language of my clients. This is how I establish and main rapport. Just by being authentic and staying true to who I am along with inspiring my clients to do the same. Because I cultivate an environment where my clients feel comfortable with being their true self, I notice that I retain clients and based on their experience they are recommending me to friends, family members and colleagues.
Non-traditional- when we think of therapist the first thing that comes to mind as someone who is stuffy and by the book. Instead, I adapt to each client that I work with. Working extended hours which includes late evenings, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays on a case by case….. Non-traditional in the way I dress and more importantly how I market myself as a therapist and my business.

What should our readers know about your business?
Seeking Solutions of South Florida, LLC is a private therapy practice for high achieving adults. Business isn’t easy it’s what you make it. Lessons that I’ve learned along the way is to be flexible. Since the pandemic I was forced to think outside of the box which includes being open to change and welcoming the telehealth world. My mission in life is to inspire every person on the planet to recognize his/her own strengths and become the author of their own stories.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop Aventura Mall! Aventura mall is an upscale mall and is a most for shopping, we’d head to the beach to lay out at the W ordering cocktails and end our evening with a great dinner at Yard Bird
