We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Sharon Arrindell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Sharon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process is always family based behind Inspired Wholeness Enterprise. The business started as Inspired Wholeness Ministries some years ago, however, as a result of COVID19 I gave up my job as a school counselor of 11 years, and jumped full fledged into building the business. It has been a challenge, but as a result of support from my husband, family, and team I am intentional about it becoming a legacy for my children and grandchildren.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is called Inspired Wholeness Enterprise which houses Inspired Wholeness Ministries, Wholeness Counseling Service, and Inspired Wholeness School. The business/ministry provides professional Christian counseling service to clients seeking healing and wholeness. The ministry allows me, as a result of my inspirational speaking platform, to encourage my audience to move on from circumstances that have at times left them stuck. Inspired Wholeness School is in the process of building online courses, and also utilizes the self-help books that I have published to reach my readers with the message of wholeness.
After losing everything I owned in 1999 as a result of a Tropical Storm and literally treading muddy water with my two children to get out of our house, I almost immediately became a single mom. I gave up my career as a fashion designer and bridal boutique owner in New York, and went back to school with a vengeance at 40 yrs. old, in an effort to care for my children.
Owning this business was never in my vision, but God had a plan all along. In essence, none of this has been easy, but I have acquired a tenacious spirit along the way, that keeps me thinking “I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me mega strength”. As a result I am the CEO of Inspired Wholeness Enterprise.
Along the way I have learned patience, perseverance, resilience and so much more, in an effort to succeed. The late Bob Marley wrote a song entitled “Redemption Song” and some of the lyrics speak to what I want the world to know about me. God has given me a redemption song that is second to none, and I am forever thankful and oh so grateful. In my journey I have learned how to turn my losses into gains, my failures into successes, and not be a victim, but be VICTORIOUS in all things.
My academic career turned into therapy for me, and has led to me acquiring a Master of Science in counseling (MSC); a doctorate in Biblical Studies in Biblical Counseling (DBS/DBC), and a doctorate in Education Leadership (Ed. D.)
Although these are amazing accomplishments, my greatest accomplishments have been my relationship with the Lord, the opportunity to raise my children, and being married to my dream guy.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start the day with a trip to Massage Envy, we would then have a small tea party by the pool and probably do a little shopping at a nearby outdoor mall. We would have dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Waterway Cafe in West Palm Beach, Florida; Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Port St. Lucie, Florida, Spritz City Bistro in Stuart, Florida, or Pirate’s Cove Resort and Marina in Stuart, Florida.
Those are some of the places that I find enjoyable and would want to share with a friend. We would visit one of the many beachfront parks, museums or botanic gardens in South Florida; visit Miami Seaquarium; probably visit Disney World, and spend a day at either South Beach or Daytona Beach. We might also visit Gloria Estefan’s Costa D’Este Beach Resort and Spa.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
