Meet Ebony Chambers | Entrepeneur & Posh Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ebony, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I was born and raised right here in Miami, Florida. My father is a Jamaican immigrant who migrated to South Florida as a young man ready to grab hold to the American Dream. My mother, a South Florida native, who just like my father, decided despite any perceived limitations she wanted her piece of the American Dream as well! My parents and their drive directly impacted who I am today. Despite my parent’s traditional values, I have alway been sort of a rebel and someone ready to push the envelope. As a child, of course, I was seem as the trouble maker, but as an adult, it is undoubtably the best part of who I am!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Natural Extensions Specialist and Luxury Braider, owner of Posh Beauty Co. Posh Beauty Co is a concierge hair styling service that brings luxurious hair styling to you in the comfort of your own home.
I started “doing hair” at the tender age of 15 years old, when I learned to do my own hair and it has since then turned into a life long passion.
I am also Founder of Posh Life Collective, a community specifically for women who are looking to cultivate community and friendship, embrace their authenticity, and discover the true luxury in self-love and healing.
Being a natural creative, ideas come easily, however executing the ideas and bringing it to life can be difficult. There is a lot of work that I have to continuously do when in comes to my personal and brand development to keep me on track. For example, marketing, time management, and productivity.
I have learned the entrepreneurship is about mastering yourself. I quit my 8 year career as a teacher thinking that it would be “easy” because I am creative and a reservoir of great ideas. But what I found is success is less about the final product, and more about the lessons, skills acquired, and knowledge you have gained on your journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friend is visiting the area and asked ME for the BEST time ever, here’s what we’re doing. She’s probably aware that I take health and wellness very serious so we’re start our day at sunrise with some Sprinting and Stretching on the beach hosted by yours truly, Me. We would ride out to Victory Restaurant for brunch and a vibe. Grab some Macarons from Laduree in Aventura Mall, while we shop around. We’d definitely have a night of good food, good people, good LIVE music at Lorna’s. Saturday morning we would be up and ready to go in our cutest tennis outfits and join the flyest girls in the city at Slice Girls Tennis Club.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have always had a desire to become this version of myself. And while there are MANY people who deserve credit, I believe that when I attended my first event with the Boss Babes of South Florida, everything finally came together, everything made sense. Dr. Karine, the founder of Boss Babes of South Florida has done an amazing job at creating an environment for women to prosper, actualize their dreams, and network with other women on the same journey. Every time I go to an event I leave with something. Whether it be inspiration, a mentor, or a small nugget of knowledge to take along with me. That organization continues to be a beacon of light in my journey.
