We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Denise Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ebony Denise, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
With no risk there is no reward. You can’t afford to be afraid to take chances because you’ll never know what is on the other side. Risk taking has made me into the person I am today. I played the safe way for the longest and I’m sure I missed out on some major opportunities. I cant look back at that now the only thing to do now is push ahead full steam with no safety net. The bigger the risk the higher the reward; that’s the motto behind me starting my journey to entrepreneurship. I can’t keep my head down any longer I have to jump out onto faith.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I pride myself on being as authentic and genuine as possible. It took a lot to get myself to this point, A lot of tears, sleepless nights, aggravation, lost friends, and missed opportunities. I wouldn’t change anything it took to get to this point. I consider myself to be a successful woman and the only way for me to go is up from here. I want the world to know my name. I am a fighter, a resilient go-getter who will not be broken by anyone. I’ve overcome homelessness, abuse, depression and more and now that i am here, i am here to stay.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My friend and I would definitely have to go to Playa Miami the food and ambiance is amazing, Bar One is another one with great food and vibes. The Licking, i would definitely have to take my friend to Tootsies, KAMP South. Round1. and Puttshack. The one thing i love about my city is that there is always something to do, it could be a random Tuesday and there are at least three parties going on.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I have to thank God for giving me the vision and wisdom to begin my quest for entrepreneurship. I would also have to thank my mother for always being my rock and not always telling me what i want to hear. To Raichella thank you for pushing me and making me see that there is more for me to do then working for someone else, I appreciate you. Charity you’re always in my corner to motivate or push me beyond the limits I set for myself. Thank you all for your support that sometimes may not come in the way that I want it but always ends up being what I need.
