Meet Edgar Escorcia | Realtor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Edgar Escorcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Edgar, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business was born out of a desire for autonomy, a passion for solving problems, and a belief in the value of my ideas. Being a real estate agent has allowed me to do all three of these things.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Growing up, my parents could never afford to buy a home. I remember we always rented and we moved frequently. When I first entertained the idea of becoming a realtor, it brought back childhood memories and that made it easier for me to make the decision to jump righ in. Since early in my career, I made it a point to help as many people achieve the milestone of becoming homeowners and that feeling is so rewarding. Through real estate, I also discovered a passion for teaching and so I train other agents to become agents of change for our industry. One trait that distinquishes me from other agents, is that I really take the time to educate my clients to empower them to make educated decisions. It’s the best way to gain their trust.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Everyone knows Miami is vibrant city and preferred destination for many. We have some of the best beaches in the world and there is no shortage of fine dining here. If my best friend was in town and they’ve never been to Miami, I would definitely take them on a sightseeing boat tour around Star Island. For lunch, I’d make reservations at the Rusty Pelican Restaurant in Key Biscayne which has some of the best scenic waterviews in town. Also snorkeling and kayaking at John Pennekamp state park is a must when you’re in town.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I really want to send a shout out to my broker George Canciobello who introduced me to Real Estate. He always believed in me even when many people doubted me. He’s also never given up on me, even when I have been tempted to throw in the towel.
