We had the good fortune of connecting with Edison Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Edison, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I have been really trying to finish and graduate college this semester so I have been trying my hardest to stay consistent on social media while also completing all my course assignments and attending class on a daily basis. I have prioritized school as it is almost over so that I can have all the time to commit to my content once I graduate.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I dedicate my platforms across TikTok and Instagram to my Puerto Rican heritage and find passion through discussing Latino/ Caribbean related topics such as our history and the array of influence our islands have on Latin America. For being such a small island with a disproportionate impact in the media, many people are fascinated to learn more about the Puerto Rican accent and who we are as people. I also drive in reconnecting state side Boricuas who find a hunger in learning more about their disconnected culture.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Little Havana is such a culturally rich strip with delicious Cuban flavors in not just food but in sound. Salsa being my favorite genre of music as a Puerto Rican, is played all day through La Calle Ocho and seeing the historic paintings and architecture honoring not just Cuban but also Puerto Rican legends is the perfect place to bring people to the Latin Caribbean without leaving mainland USA.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout Shermalee, Janissa, and Ruby for managing all the work that goes behind my financial gain, if it wasn’t for my agency, Millie, I would have never seen the value behind what was once just my hobby. I have turned my passion into my job and thanks to them I can live on my own through the brand deals they handle for me.
