We had the good fortune of connecting with Ela Imer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ela, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
From a very young age, I always thought about risk-taking as an opportunity to grow. I am one of those people who thrive from ever changing surroundings or situations that life brings to us. I have come to the States from a beautiful multicultural city, Istanbul, to study majoring in Fashion Photography. After I graduated, I worked in fashion both as a photographer an as an editor in Harper”s Bazaar Magazine. I was always a multitasker. After I got married and had two beautiful daughters, I wanted to continue to work for myself, curating a fashion jewelry and accessory business. I achieved many things as well as being a chairwoman of my ever lasting family businesses of farming and real estate development which my husband and I created. I am a very strong, independent and stubborn woman by nature. I would like to set an example for my daughters as you don’t have to work in a field you have majored in, but do whatever you like and put your heart into it. Then it never feels as work. Obviously I had my hard times, I still do, but life is constantly changing and evolving and you have got to go with the flow. So I can’t say that I”m taking risks, I’m evolving and constantly learning something new and as a result I’m always growing. I believe my goals are possible, and that falling during the process means that I’m learning, and I am doing the best I can every single day. Life is a hustle and if you choose the easy way, it gets harder. So choose the hard way to make it easy at the end. I believe that I am capable of doing difficult things and change is an option at every moment.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created Serabondy with a state of mind that never stops changing and evolving. Watching the trends closely and combining them with classic and sometimes timeless touch what makes Serabondy a great brand. Combining my Eastern Europe heritage with Miami”s Latin energy creates a vibrant and positive vibe that people follow. Serabondy is color, it is vibrant, it is the music inside of you that is always playing there if you stop and listen. you know, you HAVE to stop and listen. It is the happy hour of your life that you share with your friends. it is the Friday you wait for all week. It is the wave on the ocean which you take to surf. It is the way you handle your life.

We have a great variety of trendy and timeless accessories designed for happy people. You are who you choose to be in life. Choose the state of mind that makes you happy and use our accessories to crown it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First things first, I would take her to Miami Beach early in the morning to feel the ocean breeze, a little walk, a little swim. After a healthy breakfast at Miami Juice, we would hit Mimi Yoga for a good mind set in Wynwood. Take a walk to the Miami Design District, and end up in Swan for a light lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Perez Museum for the latest show and swing by the swings in the museum”s terrace. We still have some time to stroll in the Bal Harbour Shops till we drop and then for a late dinner we would go to The Surf Club or our beloved Casa Tua restaurant. I would end the night in the LivingRoom in Faena Hotel listening and dancing to a live band.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are a very close family who shares our emotions and feelings openly, respecting each other”s boundaries and personal and emotional space. I would definitely dedicate my shoutout to my husband and my teenager daughters; but above all, I would give my biggest shoutout to my late mother from whom I have learned pride, dignity, compassion and grace. I believe my biggest luck in life is having a husband who supports me with my decisions and my daughters for always showing their unconditional love for me. Businesswise, I would like to give a huge shout out to Liandra Sales and Martha Graeff for being the strongest, and the most hardworking ladies in the fashion field and also whom are big givers to the community with their philantrophy and charity work. Being international, dedicated and hard working mothers with a cause, these two young women always empowers me.
