We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Suit and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeth, what do you attribute your success to?
Doing everything, both personally and professionally with meaning knowing that purpose fuels passion, and passion inspires movement. This is the most important factor to success.
“He who has a why can bear any how.” Friedrich Nietzsche.
Why do meaningful things? Because life is suffering, and it will take you out. You need something to arm you with virtue throughout life. Nobility of purpose. Meaning is not optional, which is why it’s such a deep instinct within each and every one of us. The instinct of life.
You need a reason (meaning) to get out of bed on a terrible day. I admire and respect people that can do difficult things. They take responsibility for themselves, as well as others because they have an excess capacity. So what does that mean to me? I knew that If I did difficult things, make the hard decisions, and accepted the challenges, burdens, suffering that life inevitably provides, I could transcend that into respecting myself, which in turns drives success.
I can now identify that my success has been a direct reflection of self respect, being able to identify problems, and implement the best plans I can. They aren’t always the right plans, but they are always teaching me something. Then the next plan I make is better.
I make it a point to never remain stasis. Anyone that knows me, knows how hypersensitive I am to time. We get old way faster than we think. Time waits for no one. In interest of not wasting a second of it, I found the things that had meaning to me, and went for it. I wake up every morning, go into the world, and get after it every day. I am not afraid to fail, as long as I fail trying.
What should our readers know about your business?
Headquarters is a home for all who serve. We tell stories through heritage, honor, and tradition. We pride ourselves in nurturing human connection, and building our community through service. We are the first ever first-responder/military restaurant in Palm Beach County, and cannot wait to grow and expand.
It has been a challenging road, no doubt, but all things worth while don’t come easy. Every decision, and move I made over the last 10 years has led me to my success, not to mention amazing mentors. I could have never found success without help and guidance from others.
I want the world to know that this brand will never sacrifice values for money. I have worked very hard to give every little thing within the brand meaning and purpose, and will protect that at all cost.
Always be kind, stay humble, and do no wrong to others.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
West Palm Beach is an amazing city. I’d start with finding outdoor activities as the beaches and resources we have here are postcard worthy! I’d take them to Riverbend Park to bike ride, Juno Beach to surf waves permitting, and texuesta to paddle board!
Food wise, I would go to Howley’s for breakfast, leftovers for lunch, and Rocco’s for dinner. Downtown WPB has a lot of fun eclectic spots as well to explore.
One of the most enjoyable things to me is the green market downtown. Seeing the local community come together and support one another is priceless.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Rocco Mangle has been a key mentor to me as I explore entrepreneurship within new industries. He has guided me without expecting anything in return, and I am forever grateful to call him my friend and mentor.
