We had the good fortune of connecting with Elysa Galloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elysa, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?

As an Attorney, it is often conventional to begin your legal career as an Associate for an established firm. Commonly, an attorney will work as an associate for however many years to gain the experience “needed” prior to opening their own firm. However, I knew there was other ways to gain experience and knowledge and it didn’t have to fit into that cookie cutter scenario. I opened my law firm immediately after being sworn in as an Attorney in the State of Florida and I have not looked back since. Many may wonder, how can a newly licensed Attorney start their own law practice, and the answer is by believing in yourself and dreams, as well as building a network of experienced attorneys who can mentor and assist you with your cases. My passion has always focused on specific areas of law which include business, entertainment, and real estate. Building a network of experienced Attorneys who specialize in theses area has been crucial. For me, networking is key but more importantly, believing in yourself and the wonderful things you can accomplish as you advocate for members in your community who need you guidance and assistance with their legal matters.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Law Offices of Elysa Galloway’s mission is to provide high-quality legal services in the areas of entertainment, business and real estate law while taking a genuine approach in advocating for our clients and delivering results that meet or exceed every client’s expectation. As an Attorney and business owner, I put my heart and soul into all that I do to ensure that every decision made is based on our clients best interest. This not only takes strategic skills in the practice of law but practical skills in running a business. I am committed to being a strong, and respect advocate for my clients as well as a leader and a business owner in the community. I have and will continue to build my business model based on my career goals and being an adversary for clients by assisting them in reaching their end goals that are ultimately life changing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Let’s go to the heart of Miami! I would definitely say if you visit Miami these are the places you want to explore:

Miami Design District
South Beach
Wynwood
Midtown &
Downtown Miami.

The City of Miami is like no other filled with various cultural experiences and spectacular attractions including museums, architecture, night clubs, dining, and art.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

In recognizing my own success and where I am in life, I have a series of shoutouts that cannot go unnoticed due to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of many. I would like to start by saying without God nothing is possible. I remember the day like it was yesterday, I received a letter from my law school and it stated, “you have been accepted to St. Thomas University School of Law.” My excitement was overwhelming but I quickly realized the dedication law school would require and that I would be unable to work to provide for my children.  Thankfully, my loving parents opened their doors to me and my three children allowing us to live there through my entire law school career. I would not have been able to succeed in law school nor pass the Florida bar exam if it was not for my parents and their unwavering support..  Similarly, my children were patient, loving, understanding, and my biggest cheerleaders. It was not easy for them to give up their home, and deal with my demanding schedule but they did it with total faith in me to succeed. Then there is my law school’s Deans and Professors  that truly cared and believed in me. It was their unconditional support that pushed me to succeed in the heap of being faced with overwhelming difficulties. Lastly, I can never forget my friends and family members who stayed up on late night calls, who felt the tears, heard the cries, and never let me give up even on the most difficult days. Without the enormous support system in my life, I would not be where I am today.
