We had the good fortune of connecting with Emanuel Galimidi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emanuel, what role has risk played in your life or career?
There’s a quote that I use all the time from former NFL Head Coach Bruce Arians. “No risk it, no biscuit”.
For me, risk is part of what makes life worth living. You get to try things (within reason!) and see if it works. It’s the unknown, the “what could be” that has launched everything lemon aid stands all the way to lunar landings. I think as lawyers, we often view risk from the worst-case scenario IF we do the thing. Whatever it may be. And while that is an important layer in the analysis it isn’t the only one. In starting my own practice from scratch with exactly zero clients, I of course considered what happens if I fail miserably and no one signs up. I would have given up a great job working with so many great people for what? How would my family fare? Bills? No pressure! Thankfully, that didn’t happen, but it certainly was within the range of possible outcomes. What I also needed to consider though was, what is the worst-case scenario if I don’t do this? That was easy, I wake up 10 years later and I never tried to do something, that I knew I could. That fear of becoming someone who resented themselves was more than enough to overcome the fear of failure. Now that I am on the other side of the jump, I can of course say that it was the right choice because the results have been great but I know that it’s not 20/20 hindsight because had I failed, I would have failed but still gained a great deal of self-respect. And that, is not something comes without risk.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Galimidi Law was founded on the idea that everyone should have access to the same level of representation that insurance companies and other large corporations enjoy.
Too often, people who have been injured land in the wrong hands or worse, go it alone against institutions which are designed to pay out as little as possible, whenever possible. The result for many is sleepless night after sleepless night. Every day I try to put someone’s mind at ease after what is one of the most chaotic experiences of their lives. I, like everyone reading this article knows what its like to need someone to reassure them. To help them maneuver through certain situations.
That’s what this firm has been designed to do. When you’re the victim of someone else’s negligence you go through several stages, sometimes you even repeating a few. One of the toughest to help clients overcome is anger. They are angry because whatever worries they had prior to the accident, meetings to attend, kids to pick up or drop off, dinners to make or plan all were derailed and now must be reprioritized. For the injured party, it’s more than just the appointments for treatment, depositions etc., it’s how everything else that matters gets tossed around in a whirlwind. This is where a law firm where the attorney gets on the phone and walks the client through whatever is going on and helps put their mind at ease is the clear choice. That’s what my firm founded on.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Love the Grove. Walkable with new places to eat and drink on seemingly every corner. The Gables and downtown also have their own charm. Further up on Biscayne is a great restaurant, KLAW. Definitely not an every night type of place but the food is great and the service is top notch.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents. They taught me to be about service to those around you. To always be ready to lend a hand.
