We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The Thought process was simple, I wanted to make a change in the world doing something that I truly love.

You love what you do and it will never be a job or work.

I shortly learned that in my industry it is tough to find a high-yielding job and other medical professionals usually

laugh at what we are. I am one who never lets a situation hold me down. so I did what any logical person would do find a solution by creating a business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Healthpro Academy and Consulting is the only firm that understands the forthcoming technological innovations of all health and wellness-related business practices encompassing both online and in-person aspects.

Our Mission is to help make a dent in this world by assisting other healthcare professionals to achieve impactful success in the health industry, make better use of their overall time, and scale their business.

Our experience in the brick in mortar setting, online setting, and at best a hybrid model, has taken healthcare professionals and practitioners to new heights beyond standardized business models.

Growing up was not easy for me I had all of the ingredients to be bullied. I was a chunky kid that had a hard time breathing mixed with always getting sick and quiet almost 90% of the time (still am sort of) but that all changed after I found baseball as a fun activity to do.

I immediately said to myself I’m going to be the best and to do that I needed to learn how to be healthy and get stronger and faster. That started everything. I started reading textbooks on health and my baseball buddies started noticing a difference in me, all of a sudden I started training everyone on the team. I knew from there is found my calling in life (ikegai) . Shortly after I found a book called ACSM Guidelines and Prescriptions, it mentioned getting the hardest cert you had to get a Master of Science and 10000 hrs of clinical programming with a 42% passing rate (I was 15 yrs old) 10 years later I got it.

Around my teens to twenties, I started coaching and going to school. holding multiple jobs and internships. At one point I had 30 minutes of social life and I had managers that just won’t leaders, So I said F this there needs to be something better I can do and pass along to the future of my industry. That’s when the idea hit me I’ve been called the brain, the smartest man in the room and people loved learning from me. I let myself reframe myself and be the leader, mentor, and educator that I never had to others.

I worked hard to get where I am today retired owner/ COO of a multi-million dollar integrated health facility (still consulting for them) with dozens of licenses and certs under my name. Given hundreds of presentations/ workshops. Trained thousands of clients with diseases and cases that others have given up on. I’ve taught hundreds of allied health professionals to be the best leaders they can be for themselves and others.

My dream right now is to make a huge dent in the world and I know I can do that by being myself and following my Ikegai.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m an Everglades type of guy. That’s where, well spend the whole day camping and BBQing all-day

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Everyone and all my experiences deserve a shoutout. They all lead me to be the person I am today. My family of course have believed me from the very beginning of my journey. Mentors such as Micheal Torress, Perry Nickleson, Scott Dangberg. They each touch a part of my life and expose me to new theories in health. The biggest influence and book that really started this whole thing almost 2 decades ago was ACSM Guidelines and Exercise Prescriptions.
