We had the good fortune of connecting with Eshana Thornton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eshana, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think taking risks are one of the best things we can do in life. Taking risks allow you to step out of your comfort zone, which at least for me has always opened up new opportunities, and given me great experiences I otherwise wouldn’t have had. Taking risks has played a big part in my life especially when traveling. I’ve learned to not wait on others to enjoy life and just do it, even if it makes you a little nervous.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a flight attendant and a travel content creator. Typically when I travel, I am always taking photos or videos of my experience. I am very proud of my growth via Instagram and Tik Tok and I am still learning new ways to grow. What sets me apart is that I typically focus more on documenting the experience and less on myself. I like my content to tell a story, and I like for people to relate to it as well.

Professionally I became a flight attendant fresh out of college, not knowing I would fall in love with the aviation and travel industry. I didn’t even take my first plane ride until I was 21! Becoming a flight attendant opened up so many new avenues for me that I otherwise wouldn’t have been able to experience. This turned on a light bulb for me, which eventually made me want to start making content and documenting the places I go.

Getting here was not at all easy, it took so long to learn about the industry, learn interview tips, and learn how to manage a whole new lifestyle but I would not change it for the world. I am also still learning how to navigate social media algorithms and make better quality content. I overcome these challenges by doing my own research and staying in the know of things.

I would like the world to know that even if you are nervous about something, just do it! You never know how it could play out. So take that solo trip, make a career change, and do what makes YOU happy. Don’t be embarrassed to post your content. Get out there and just do it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite places to eat in South Florida are Bacon B*tch, Pink Taco, Maü Miami, Java & Jam. My favorite bars/hangouts are Wet Willies, Voodoo, Mango’s and Treehouse.

Some places I would take my friend in South Florida would be Bayside Marketplace, and take a Millionaire’s Row boat. I would then visit the Everglades and do an airboat tour. I would also visit the Venetian Pool, Flamingo Gardens, Wynwood Walls, Frost Museum of Science, I would then take a day trip to the Bahamas via ferry.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve always had the support from my family to pursue any career path that I wanted. When I first became a flight attendant, I had just graduated from college with a degree in a completely different industry; however my family still pushed me to follow my dreams.
