We had the good fortune of connecting with Estelle and Benjamin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Estelle and Benjamin is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Attention to detail, of course! To us, it is vital in creating a successful restaurant. Benjamin and Estelle are both extremely picky on the quality of the food, consistency of the plates, branding, and marketing.
For example, each dish should be carefully crafted and visually appealing, as well as a well-designed logo, menu, and website. Each guest should be considered a marketing vessel, that is why consistency is crucial in building trust with our community.
Customers expect the same quality each time they visit, and we strive to surround ourselves with people who have the same sense of detail. Our training are thorough as we expect everyone to deliver exceptional service.
Attention to detail, in all aspects of the restaurant experience is what sets a successful establishment apart. Ultimately, our main goal is to ensure a memorable and satisfying experience for everyone.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets you apart from others? As we said previously, the attention to detail that we provide to every single aspect of the restaurant business is the key to our success.
What you are most proud of or excited about.
New openings of course! We have been working on several projects at the same time and we can not wait to see them flourish. The expansion of the company is what makes us proud and excited. It is a lot of work but extremely rewarding.
How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy?
Hard work, dedication, consistency and a good work ethic. Our mantra to keep us motivated: “Nothing is easy, otherwise everybody would do it.”
If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
We always see the big picture. And to be honest, having people that believe in us is what keeps is going.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
You cannot control everything and the power of letting go can be way more powerful than you think. You need to learn how to trust if you want to grow.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Benjamin and Estelle moved from France to Miami to pursue their dream. It all started when they were frustrated not being able to “brunch” any other day than Saturday and Sunday.
That’s how it all started, Café Bastille, an all day breakfast brunch where you can enjoy weekend vibes everyday.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We are both foodies. So to us, the best way to visit a city is by trying its food. Miami has been growing so fast lately and they are so many amazing places but here is some of our favorites:
– Call me Gaby, beautiful outdoor seating and great food
– Mandolin Aegan Bistro, same
– Cote Miami for its steaks and wine list
– Pura Vida, it is always a win
– Makoto for the best Japanese food in town
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you for asking because those people tend to be forgotten once you get a little successful. But yes, obviously we would like to talk about 2 people in particular.
The first person is Benjamin’s father who has been the first one believing in our dream.
He has been an amazing support, mentor and counsellor since day 1 and this would have not been possible without him.
Francisco is obviously the second person we would like to mention. He is the Director of Operations and member of the family for 2 years. By his skills, knowledge, experience and attention to detail, Francisco could have been a Director of Operations in any big companies but still, he believed in the dream when we were still at the beginning of our growth.
