We had the good fortune of connecting with Exigent and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Exigent, why did you pursue a creative career?
All of us are creative people with a big passion for music. The power of music is so great, that it can bring people together, like a universal language. One of our goals is to share our music and spread positivity with the world. It’s a part of who we are and a way we can freely and truly express ourselves.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Each of us comes from different musical backgrounds with various experiences. These influences create a sound that is unique to us and helps define who we are. We’re most excited to return to playing shows, as the Covid-19 pandemic has unfortunately forced us into quarantine. Despite that, we’re still happy to be sharing content online with our wonderful fans. We needed lots of jam sessions, practice, and rehearsals to get to where we are now, and still continue to learn as we go. It is certainly not easy, but it is part of the fun. The challenges we face can be overcome by never giving up and having an open mind. The more experience we get, the more we learn and can face the obstacles that come our way. One of the most important things we’ve learned is that we can’t internalize the negative things people say about us. At the end of the day, we’re here because we want to be here, not because other people want us to be here. We want the world to know that we have a lot of great things in the works and we’re excited to share them with everyone soon.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of our favorite places to eat is Spaghetto, a small Italian restaurant in Davie. There’s just about any kind of pasta you can imagine, and it’s always fresh and delicious. A great hangout spot is the cul de sac at the end of Bird Road. It is the perfect view of the bay and downtown Miami, especially at sunset. Wynwood is another fantastic place to be, full of beautiful art and great food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, we would like to shoutout Zeus the Bichon of Justice, who is our dog and most incredible mascot. We would also like to give a shoutout to Ernie Ball and Robert M. Knight, who have been incredibly supportive in our musical journey. A special thanks to our producer Bryan Kuznitz from Fame on Fire for supporting our music. Of course, thank you to Mom and Dad, for tolerating our constant noise.
