We had the good fortune of connecting with Fabiana Vilchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fabiana, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is part of evolving professionally and in life. We all must do it. The worst thing that can happen is being told no. But if you don’t take risks, you’ll never know what you’re capable of. Always believe in yourself and your abilities.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It was not easy to continue my university studies but nothing worthwhile is and this was no exception, among the political, economic and social adversities of my country (Venezuela), I always looked for a way to continue with my career because I knew it would be worth it, it is okay to recognize that you need help, it is human to feel vulnerable when things do not go as expected but a piece of advice and a hug sometimes recharges you to continue because we have to start from 0, reinvent ourselves as many times as necessary, but I promise you it will be worth it, do not focus on the final result, enjoy the process because nothing is achieved overnight but dreams do come true no matter how cliché it sounds, it is like that, believe in yourself. The Favi Studio brand was born after I told my partner that they had cut staff at my job, and if that moment hadn’t come about I wouldn’t have dared to leave my comfort zone and thus resume my professional career. I would have missed the experience of working with people who believe in my potential, to be able to give a face and personality to their projects. I always get involved in each one of them so that the final result is extraordinary, and reflects the essence of the brand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a resident of Miami, the plan would definitely be to take a boat ride from Brickell Bay to enjoy the view of the city, such as the iconic Bay Side Ferris wheel. If it’s to walk around and get to know the city’s vibe a little, it would be Wynwood. It’s a city full of art, where every corner literally has murals that delight everyone with their extraordinary colors and compositions. In addition to having different nightclubs that are perfect for going out dancing, this plan is definitely for my friends. My top 3 restaurants to eat at are La Birra Bar (Argentine Burger Bar), Chabela (Mexican Food), and Mordisco (Caribbean Food Fusion, Venezuelan Style).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I feel privileged and very grateful to have the support of my family, since my childhood I showed an inclination towards art, my favorite hobby was illustrating everything I saw, mainly people, I studied marketing at a school and that made me clarify that my thing was design, so at university I decided to study graphic design, it was the best decision I could have made, my family really got involved in my projects and I enjoyed those formative years. I had put aside my career because I had to emigrate, but thanks to my boyfriend and friends they encouraged me to take it up again and it has been incredible because part of my essence is design and doing what I am passionate about fulfills me and inspires me in a positive way.
