We had the good fortune of connecting with Federico Bertele and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Federico, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The importance of good art and good music seems to have fallen by the wayside as the rise of technology and social media has spiraled upwards. It’s all too convenient, it’s all too cheap. I decided to put my efforts to help advance cultural importance in art and music to help advance the careers of creatives who I feel really deserve more than their communities give back to them. Creatives are taken for granted, if we do not allow them room for their expressions to cultivate, the world will become a sad and dark place.

What should our readers know about your business?
Archive 79 was created as a space for me to display art that I felt captured the local scene well. As time continued I met some great international artists. Two of which I took to Scope 2022, Ayse Suter and Giancarlo Vitor. Archive 79 is a place for art by artists. Not for AI generated images, not for NFT’s but for artists who have dedicated their life to their craft. Our motto is Art Without Ego, we take the snobbery out of buying art, and try to educate on the local and international art scene in the process. Studio 79 is located in the same building at 170 ne 79th st 33138, to make one of the few art galleries and recording studios in the world. I began with the studio but then found a second passion with art. The studio is available to rent for anyone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The day would begin either at the Bass Museum, or the Rubell Museum. Then perhaps a drink in the Buena Vista area or a great new spot in Wynwood called Savage Labs. Followed by one of my favorite Vegan restaurants; Planta, Minty Z, Nude Vegan or Organic Food Kings. For Late night I like ScapeGoat or Mini Bar south of fifth.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would Like to highlight the local artists I work with: David Laverina, Didirok, Nate Dee, Falopapas, Remote, CP1, Gustavo Oviedo, PHD, Chuck Berrett, Eduardo Mendieta, Nicole Salgar Atomiko, and Carlos Solano.

Musically the awesome South Florida band I manage Roxx Revolt & The Velvets, our studio engineer and producer Anthony Alfonso, and a partner of mine and artist ODJaytee.
