We had the good fortune of connecting with Federico Rodrigiez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Federico, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Life is all about taking risk. You need to take some risks in life to be able to grow and develop into something great.
Risk is something that is always been around us, when you are a baby and you are about to take your first step, the risk is that you might fall and get hurt, but you still go for it without thinking, if not, no one will know how to walk right?
Risk is part of our lifes, on a daily basis, the only thing you have to make sure that the risk you taking is measured and achivable. Anything with hard work, passion and time will be achibable. Now a days, i take risk every day, risk is not always bad.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My carreer path was not easy but there is always a start to it. I decided to attend culinary school when i saw myself with no future, once i graduated i took my first job as a line cook at a hotel in miami. Since then, every position i have taken was to prove everyone who i was and that i was in that place to grow and succed.
Success did not arrived the next day, i sweat, i cried, i fought and missed many holidays with family, i was finally able to create a brand that suits any clientele.
DGF (Damm Good Food) is set on basics. Good food, good quality ingredients and a custom menu to satisfy anyone appetite. Very simple.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This city is full of new places opening every week, and there is something to choose from. Given the holidays, the best thing to see right now is Art Basel, full of vendors, art, food. We will visit my friend Elo and supercar rooms in wynwood, to see some of his exciting collection. Then we can head to Planta Queen in Fort Lauderdale for some vegan food, fresh ingredients always good.
Some drinks after. Not sure where, but that would be later to decide

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to family. My parents who never gave up on me during those rough times.
My daughters are the ones that give me energy to wake up and fight for their greater future.
