We had the good fortune of connecting with Feri Feryal Turker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Feri Feryal, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Actually, I started my job professionally 5 years ago, after being successful in my handcraft skills, furniture, mural, and charcoal painting combined with my husband’s hand skills, and with the encouragement my son asking me the question of “why don’t you get an education?” The endless support of our dear friends and our valued customers’ requests for help in the design of their homes helped me to finish my education in interior design. Of course, I have to admit that my husband has a great experience in Consulting Engineering, so he played a big role in establishing this business. And now we design and draft all interior projects of luxury Condos, Single Houses, and Commercial Design and implement these designs with our professional licensed contractor team which makes us very proud.

What should our readers know about your business?
I think every designer has their own different ideas and experiences, together with advantages and disadvantages. My advantage is Turkiye, the country where I was born and raised is a bridge between Europe, and Asia, and we had very valuable friends who made me realize that I combined my creative ideas with contemporary orientalist influences and reflected them in my designs. We are experiencing the great advantages of this now. Feri Designs is a family company that was established with zero capital, but with life and business experience it raised to a great success.

“If you’re doing your own job, you’re reflecting your identity”
In all our designs, I first try to reflect the tastes and wishes of our Clients (but I will definitely add a few touches of myself), so that every time our Client opens the door of their home and enter, they see their own living space and are happy, we experience the pleasure of being a partner in their happiness.
In my opinion, you create the happiness of your Clients with your designs.
The hard thing for me was that, at the age of 53, not knowing the language so well, I studied Interior Design  with great discipline and dedication in a different and unfamiliar country of the world and I succeeded in establishing our own business, and I believe that there is not a single objective that cannot be accomplished with perseverance and anyone who wants it can succeed.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Me and my husband liked St. Augustine, -one of the oldest cities in the USA- very much. I think it is one of the must-see places in Florida because of its historical past. Also NASA-Kennedy Space Center-, the heart of technology must be visited, I think a it gives the visitors a very different vision of the world! Those who are looking for a holiday should definitely see the Florida Keys, you can experience both a fun life and the old culinary culture.

We also prefer Delray Beach Downtown for food. Our favorite restaurants are La Sorelle, delicious Italian cuisine, with exquisite Italian wines and Amar Mediterranean Bistro(Lebanese & Mediterranean) has a very delicious Middle Eastern cuisine, and a respectful service mentality. If you want to have a drink after a quality meal and listen to a quiet solo concert, you can always spend good hours at Colonial Hotel Bar which also has outdoor seating to soak in the Atlantic Avenue ambiance.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First of all, I learned a lot of my background knowledge in the field of measurement and construction from my husband and with great patience, then our son supported me a lot, of course, some of our important and valuable friends in Turkiye never gave up on me, they have become my rightful pride and created this environment with great love. Over time, our success doubled when people like you noticed us with time and showed interest in our designs and creations. I will always be grateful to my friends and Clients for their continuous support.
