We had the good fortune of connecting with Fiorella Capriles My Mood Events and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fiorella Capriles, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’m an architect, and I’ve always been passionate about everything related to design. On top of that, I’ve always loved celebrations—I truly enjoy celebrating! Ever since I had my first daughter, that love for creating special moments has only grown. I naturally became the one in charge of organizing all the family gatherings because I love making everything look beautiful and meaningful.
When I moved to the U.S. and found myself with young children, I realized I needed a job that would allow me to spend more time with them. Everyone around me kept saying I should turn this into a business because I was so good at it and did it with so much heart. And that’s how My Mood Events was born.

What should our readers know about your business?
My Mood Events is my business and my passion. I started by creating fun, creative activity tables for kids—always with a strong focus on details and personalization. Over time, I felt the desire to do more, and that naturally led me to full event planning. Now I get to design and coordinate entire celebrations, which I absolutely love.
What I do is more than just planning—it’s about creating unique, personalized experiences. I love designing every event with the client in mind, making sure each celebration truly reflects their personality and vision. I’m passionate about flowers, obsessed with details, and completely in love with creating magical atmospheres that make people feel something special the moment they walk in.
I’ve watched my business grow month by month—sometimes in big steps, other times more slowly. I’m a mom, a wife, and a daughter, and I’ve always tried to give my best in every role. Balancing it all hasn’t always been easy, but it’s taught me so much. I’m a very detail-oriented and perfectionist kind of person, and I pour my heart into everything I do. What I love most about this career is that it gives me the space to do exactly that—every single day.
I get involved in every part of the process—from the initial inspiration and design, to the selection of elements and the final execution. I believe that every detail matters, and I make sure that each event tells a story—one that belongs to the person or family behind it.
It doesn’t matter if the celebration is big or small—I truly believe that every event can be beautiful, because the magic is in the details and in the love you put into creating it. To me, celebrating is one of the most beautiful parts of life. It’s when we pause to share joy with the people we love, and being part of those special moments—helping to create memories that will last forever—is something that brings me so much happiness.
My goal with every event is to fill it with thoughtful touches and beautiful energy, so that my clients and their guests walk away with unforgettable memories and full hearts.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting me in Miami for a week, I’d make sure she had the best time! Living in Doral, I love that we’re close to everything, so there’s no shortage of fun things to do.
We’d start with a nice brunch somewhere in Coral Gables or Midtown, then spend the afternoon exploring Wynwood—walking around to see the murals, checking out local shops, and stopping for a great coffee. One evening, we’d head to Coconut Grove for dinner and drinks with a view, enjoying the relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere.
Another day would be all about the beach—probably South Beach or South Pointe for a more chill vibe—followed by a sunset dinner somewhere by the water. I’d also take her to explore the Design District for some art, fashion, and a bit of luxury window-shopping. And of course, we couldn’t skip Little Havana, where we’d enjoy the culture, music, and dancing.
For something more relaxing, we’d plan a spa day—maybe somewhere by the beach or in the city—followed by a quiet evening in Brickell with good food and conversation. Throughout the week, we’d also spend time in Doral, where there are great spots to eat, walk around, and unwind close to home.
Miami is full of energy, culture, and diversity. That’s what makes it so special. It’s a perfect mix of beach, art, food, music, and nightlife. And at 37, I’ve learned to enjoy both the exciting side of the city and its more peaceful moments—so I’d make sure to share a bit of everything with my best friend.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are several people I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to. First, my mom, who has always supported me unconditionally and helped me take the first steps to start my business. I’m so grateful for her. Also, my husband, who has always believed in me and supported me every step of the way. And of course, the amazing friends I’ve made since moving to this country—they were my very first clients, trusting in me and giving me the motivation and push I needed to make this dream a reality. I couldn’t have done it without them.
