Meet Fioriana Larche | Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fioriana Larche and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fioriana, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I grew up on Long Island but would take any chance I could to go to NYC. I fell in love with the culture there. It’s unique because it doesn’t ask anyone to conform to an image. Not one person looks the same; it was the place I felt comfortable expressing myself while growing up. My family also had a significant impact on the person I am today. With a Puerto Rican mother and South African father, my perspective on the world and what I believe I can achieve is because of them. I admire my parents for how far they’ve come in life, and all my ambition is in the hope of continuing their legacy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
LNY is a creative design product and services studio specializing in graphic design, photography, and architecture. We work with influencers and start-ups to established companies while developing our brand, selling art prints and clothing. My work is unique because I design with fluidity across disciplines. I truly believe art is one of the most beautiful things in this world that hold power; it can strike emotions and bring the community together, and I try to harness that. I use my art to share my perspective and hopefully better my community in a unique way. My bold and vibrant work encourages people to think differently, often focusing on societal issues and the importance of mental health and self-development.
I am incredibly proud of how much I’ve personally grown and the relationships I have formed throughout this journey. I was timid and quickly learned networking is 85% of your business. The high school version of myself could never have imagined what I am doing today. Every opportunity presented encourages and motivates me to keep learning, sharing my art, and growing my business. It can be frustrating at times because I want all my ideas to come to fruition as I think of them, and my biggest challenge has been learning to have patience with the process. I have learned to trust myself and what I’m doing so that I never forget to celebrate the small wins.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You cannot visit Miami without going to the beach! I would get some empanadas at Rincón Antioqueño and spend the day on South Beach! A day trip to Key West is also a must! Weekends are for brunch at Barsecco and walking around Wynwood and the design district. At night we could go to some of my favorite restaurants and bars like Chotto Matte, Rosa’s sky rooftop, Moshi Moshi, and Pilos to dance! For a more chill night, we could get take out from Pinolandia and make it to Lagniappe for live music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to my family, the YMCA Leaders Club, and the University of Miami. Without these people and experiences, I would not be where and who I am today.
