We had the good fortune of connecting with Flora Veitch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Flora, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My entrepreneurial mindset and strong self-motivation always set me apart. Naturally, starting my own business became an inevitable step, and immersing myself in the world of real estate and development felt like the perfect fit. Throughout my life, I have found joy from creating beautiful spaces and memorable experiences for people. This passion has only grown stronger with time.
Pursuing real estate and honing my skills in property development in the Hamptons emerged as the ideal direction for my aspirations and career goals. The alignment between my passions and the opportunities in this field has been a true revelation, propelling me forward with enthusiasm and dedication.
It would be remise of me not to mention that starting your own business and finding success, also takes a village of people behind you. My business partner Kristen Suarez and my mentor Kristen Farrell, are two people that push me to be the best version of myself. My advice to anyone looking to be their own boss, would be to create a team of people that lift you up and that you trust full heartedly.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Stepping into the world of Hamptons real estate was no easy feat. It’s a highly competitive industry, and you find yourself surrounded by seasoned professionals with decades of experience. However, that didn’t discourage me, because there’s always room for passionate individuals. I firmly believe that honesty and hard work are fundamental practices that shine through and naturally attract people to collaborate.
In the real estate field, challenges abound, and navigating the market can be complex. That’s why I make a point to continuously educate myself on the micro market of the Hamptons. This knowledge gives me an advantage in conversations with other professionals and, more importantly, in providing an education to my clients. Success doesn’t just come to those who wait; you have to put in the effort, practice what you preach, and strive to stand out among other agents.
To deepen my understanding of the Hamptons’ development world, I took on the role of Director of Operations for Kristen Farrell & Co. This experience has been invaluable, equipping me with the knowledge necessary to guide my clients through new construction or renovation projects. Additionally, I can effectively assess spec deals and identify land opportunities.
In summary, honesty, hard work, continuous learning, and immersing myself in the intricacies of the industry have been key pillars in my day-to-day approach to real estate. It’s an exciting journey.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
