Meet Francesca Roger | Creative Director, Model, and Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Francesca Roger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Francesca, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my podcast Franny Tings is making people feel good about their authentic self. I’ve always practiced remaining myself no matter what others think about me. When I was growing up I tried to mold my personality to always fit in and was never truly happy doing so. Eventually, I learned to love myself for who I am because no one else can ever take that away from me. My podcast is an outlet to put my stories and my truth on the line so others can potentially relate and understand we are all human at the end of the day. My goal is for people to feel comfortable being unapologetically themselves.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
All my life I’ve always yearned to express myself creatively. It wasn’t till I got to college that I knew I wanted to dedicate my all to be a creator. I had no idea where to start but I knew getting my associates in business was not fueling my fire. I switched my major to Film after being in college for a year and a half. I was scared because it was far from what I was taught to be a valid “career”. Studying film made me fall in love with the process of creating. I learned all the different roles it takes to make a vision come to life. In 2019, I began working for a company called HGAB Studios where I edited videos, managed their social media, and learned the in’s and out’s of production life. They provided me the tools to start creating my own ideas. I began modeling for music videos, clothing brands, and creative concepts. This led to me being behind the camera and direct my own ideas. Ever since I took creative control over my journey I am now an art director for photoshoots, music videos, and short films. I also am a creative director, model, and photographer. I do not like putting myself in a box and truly think in order to master your craft, you must experience every position it takes to get to where you want to be. I now have a podcast where I discuss my trials and tribulations of my life along with guests who speak about their truths as well. My brand “Franny Tings” is simply an extension of who I am.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend was visiting Miami I would start off by taking them to El Rey de la Fritas so they can have an authentic Cuban frita and have a picnic on our beautiful beaches. For nightlife, I would take them to Wynwood where we have all the fun bars where you’ll hear bad bunny on reply and get to perrear till your calves are cramping.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Behind a strong mindset, comes a strong support system. I would like to thank HGAB Studios for giving me the confidence, tools, and space to create all my wild ideas. My friends for always being muses for my ideas and supporting my “out of the box” thinking. My family for understanding the “artist” route instead of the standard American dream lifestyle. Lastly, my partner Jonathan for helping me create my concepts and overall giving me confidence every step of the way.
