We had the good fortune of connecting with Francesco De Felice and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Francesco, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to have more time with my family and build a legacy for them. I wanted to also be a part of the local community and contribute back.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Homegrown was built on my passion for Florida and its environment/wildlife. The tours can seat up to 9 people allowing them to be a group event or something more intimate, but either way, it is a private tour unlike the larger companies out there. We also schedule to fit the client’s schedule from sunrise to sunset, or even a night tour! A tour with Homegrown can show you parts of the Everglades that only true Floridians know.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank my amazing wife for always supporting me and pushing me to be the best man I can be. Without my family, I couldn’t have made the decision to Homegrown Airboat Tours. And also my friend/barber/fellow gladesman, Mike Savarese, for introducing me to the airboat community and their way of life, and always being a huge support for me and the business.
