We had the privilege of connecting with Francisco Samuel, and we’re excited to share our conversation below.

Hi Francisco, what motivated you to pursue a creative path??
Music has been a part of my life since childhood. However, it was when I heard my first house track (Todd Terry – Bango to the Batmobile) that I realized my roots in Colombia and the Dominican Republic were shaping my musical journey. As I honed my craft as a DJ, hosting parties, creating mixes, and delving into Mashups and production, I found joy in sharing music with others and creating moments. Crafting music that evokes emotions is a different level of artistic expression that I love sharing.

Let’s discuss your professional pursuits. What keeps you busy?
I’ve consistently infused my DJ sets and music production with my diverse influences, incorporating elements of Hip Hop, Latin, Afro, and House Music. I’m proud of where my passion has led me – I’ve traveled, connected with new people, and built strong relationships. While the industry can be mentally and emotionally challenging, these tests reveal your true capabilities. Music production has played a pivotal role in my journey, as years of learning and growth have deepened my appreciation for this art. Following your musical calling doesn’t demand much; it’s about having the determination to pursue it. This simplicity carries profound meaning.

Imagine a friend is visiting you. Which local spots would you show them?
During a week-long trip in NYC with my best friend, I’d plan a dynamic itinerary that includes iconic landmarks, cultural experiences, delicious food, and vibrant nightlife. Here’s a suggested plan:

– Afternoon exploration of diverse neighborhoods like Chelsea, SoHo, and the Lower East Side.
Day 4: Broadway and Entertainment
– Attend a Broadway show in the evening for a live theater experience.
– Dine at a trendy Theater District restaurant like Joe Allen or Sardi’s before the show.
Day 5: Culinary Adventure

– Discover the flavors of Chinatown, Little Italy, and Chelsea Market.
Day 6: Landmarks and Sights

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m grateful for the unwavering support of my loved ones who believe in what I do. Special thanks to the exclusive group of DJ brothers who have also served as mentors. Their motivation keeps me going, and I’m thankful to each of them.
