We had the good fortune of connecting with Franck Mille and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Franck, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued the creative industry because I grew up loving television, films, fashion and entertainment. Due to my love for the industry. I began paying attention to the intricacies of the industry. I began to wonder what makes a celebrity different from the average human being and how could that power be balanced. What I thought was a love for entertainment was a really a love for marketing, imagery and advertising because that tells the story which will shape the culture, product, service, etc.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The world is my canvas. I’ve always believed that I was capable of very special things but my concern, at an early age, of the opinions of others was an issue for me. It’s never stopped anything but I grew a resentment towards people who’d tear down others ideas knowing for damn sure they won’t try anything themselves. Then I saw how that impacted others and how that could negatively impact your future if you don’t pursue your passions and decided that I’d become the wealthiest being walking the face of the earth before I leave this earth, once I got the opportunity. My craft is inspration & connectivity via fashion, entertainment and more at scale. I can shift how an entire culture, business, etc is viewed and aid in distributing a product that we KNOW people will take interest in.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I seek vibes rather than places. I’m not interested in many people in this area because a lot of it is a carbon copy of something they’ve seen before. So I rarely meet real people. If you visited me in my city, my focus is securing our energy with whatever we do. We could hit the popular spots or the not popular spots and we are going to have a good time either way. At this point in my life I can cultivate the fun for my people without the use of things society deems as fun. I actually don’t hang out with people that much. I’m very social but I’m selective with my presence. My favorite drink is a gin and tonic with two limes. Hendricks is the gin of choice.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give credit to everyone whose contributed to my journey. Your contributions will forever be remembered and I’ll forever be thankful for all your assistance regardless of anything else. My mother, Shaakira Saffir is my constant reminder that there’s more to do while she’s also shown the most support over my years on this earth. Angelo Diaz, the definition of a brother. The definition of a friend. The epitome of respect. Amir Rashad, I love you like my own son, thank you. Tiffany Ferrill of the Paul Mitchell Atlanta franchise, Lu Christian of 1 Glance Photography and of course the Urban Gorillas, Reginald McFadden & Anthony Montello. I also want to shoutout the independent videographers we’ve partnered with Tomi Gunz, Zay Poole, Ave Ivoire, Daniel of DVM Photography, and Sedric Beasley.
