Meet Franklin Ndibam | Visual artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Franklin Ndibam and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Franklin, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Whenever I’m about to paint, for me it’s a risk because as an artist we all have the mindset of selling works we have created.. one of the way I go about painting is to just have the mindset of just painting not only just for sale but for the passion of painting. The more I paint I derive joy from it

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a figurative realism painter that love to put life in my images and I create in oil, acrylic and charcoal on paper, canvas and linen, been unique with my style of painting of black people and how I use my dialect to interpret most of my works,I’m proud of my culture and heritage and I’m always excited for being a creative. I started from the scratch and it was not that easy,I was more of just drawing commissions and I started saving up to get art materials to go into the style of art I want to create.I overcame the challenge of not being able to get a style by sticking to drawing till I got the style I want to create, some times I experience art blocks but I overcame them by checking other artist works and not creating for that moment till I felt better to create again. I have learnt to always believe in your self and believe you can start small and make it big. I want the world to know being black is something we need to be proud of and when ever you see the name Franklin Ndibam just know you have seen a painter who has gone through the highs and lows of life

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Right here I love to experience nature and this keeps me afresh and makes me feel more creative, the museum here and some art galleries are places to go too. A good eatery where you can eat local dishes,go for art workshops/studios/sip and paint.
