We had the good fortune of connecting with G Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi G, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
The customer is always right

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Podcaster and Broadcaster. The Podcast is called Homegrown With G Cole, it’s syndicated on over 15 radio stations worldwide and is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, TuneIn, IheartRadio and all platforms. The Backbone of the show is Reggae music, sometimes we have to deal with heavy topics, but a backbone of Reggae Music is always a soft bed for a weary head. In addition to speaking with Artists, we’ve done episodes on everything from Finance, real Estate, Sexual abuse, Religion, Domestic abuse, Politics, Race, Communicating with our Teenagers etc. My background in music makes it easier for artists to communicate with me and definitely sets me apart from the rest, and my time on stage gives me an edge in keeping the show entertaining and comes in particularly handy on those days when I’m doing the show without a guest. I’ve had the opportunity to talk with many of my favorite artists, musicians, thespians and fellow broadcasters. I’ve spoken with many legends in the music and those are my favorite moments, talking with people who were on the covers of my favorite records and cds. It’s been a real journey, primarily because I strive to remain consistent with content and having to balance that with my job is a lot. Fortunately I love it, so it doesn’t ever feel like work. I’ve learned along the way that There are those who do it and those who do it right, I want to be amongst the latter. My brand is based in truth not sensationalism and as I always tell my audience, my job is not to refute someone’s story, but to give them a platform to tell their story. I just released a new single called “Peace Of Mind Is A Holiday”.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d go to Island Space Museum to catch them up on some island history. We’d head down to Blue Martini Ft Lauderdale on a Sunday night to check out Visions Band, We’d stop by Taste Right in Lauderhill for some Jamaican Patties and some pastry. Dinner at S3 on A1A would be a must. A couple of days we’d probably spend at home by the pool, while I fire up the grill and make some jerk chicken, mine is some of the best. We’d also stop by Butter Flakes on Saturday for some Suey Mein. The Beaches of course, mainly Boca and Deerfield to avoid the crowd. Hopefully they’d be here in time for Grooving at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale. I spend a lot of time at home, so that might be it. Not much for a week but we’d have fun at home.
