We had the good fortune of connecting with gabriel pabon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi gabriel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Being a transgender man, I created my business GMP Wear to help transgender female to male people alleviate gender dysphoria. Being a transgender male I know what people similar to me have to experience on a daily basis. We are the 1% and there is not many resources or products to make transitioning easier as well as make us feel comfortable when we step out the house. If something doesn’t exist I will make sure I do everything I can to come up with a solution and help my community. Trans people face many obstacles. I believe that with more transfriendly products like my Prepacked Boxer Briefs (boxer briefs with a built in polyfoam bulge) we can change peoples image of themselves for the better. We need more products and varieties of gender affirming products because transitioning is not a one size fits all process as we all have different bodies and expectations and I want to make sure we are all accounted and included so we can have something that can help us feel more confident and proud of who we are, what we go through and the journey we take.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is called GMP wear, I created this business which sells Prepacked Boxer Briefs. My business is my pride and joy. I love the many emails I receive daily from people telling me how they feel more comfortable and confident. These boxer briefs have a polyfoam insert which resembles a “bulge” making transgener female to male people more confident as well as many cisgender males. My business has grown, we also have different styles now like jockstraps and briefs. When I first came up with the idea I thought it would not sell so I kept it in my bedroom closet for 2 years before my sister motivated me to just go for it. I am always thankful for her pushing me to go with what I felt and started creating and selling. If you dont take a chance you may lose the opportunity to do great things.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in the city is going to the fishing pier, one of my favorites is the Fisher Family Pier I. Pompano Beach. I love fishing it is about the only thing that calms my soul and gives me just the right amount of excitement I need when I catch something. There are many great restaurants, the beach here is always clean and it is always a great time.

I would like to shout out my sister Monica for motivating me to start my business and made me believe in myself when I didn’t believe in myself that I could start my business.
