We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriel Requena and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriel, how does your business help the community?
By minimizing over exploitation of natural resources, specifically, sand, which is the 2nd most used material in the world. Protecting biodiversity and ecosystems. Preventing glass pollution and mismanagement of land. Reduction in co2.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Frankly, it was not exciting at all. I like millions followed the conventional path of choosing a major that my family wanted. However, I was able to meet some great people ling the way to allow me to make a good living out of it. I love the financial markets so there was a consolation. Follow your passion, don’t be afraid to fail, be honest, confident and humble. Focus on the long term instead of short thrills. Seek to be around people that are positive and resilient. You have to get outside your comfort zone. Note, I’m an entrepreneur in something outside my career and have ambitions to combine both some day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Off the beaten path locations. Holes in the wall. Go to beaches, do some standup paddle boarding. Ck out downtown’s funky spots. Rooftop bars like Terras. Places in Overtown. Ck out the redlands before they over develop on behalf of affordable housing
