We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriela Peraza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriela, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For each individual person, there are stages to life. My mindset has always been the kind that plans a future with each time frame. I deeply believe that it is important to be employed and to be part of a working environment with bosses and workmates to understand the flow in a business. This interaction delivers a better path before going “solo’. Then comes that stage in the time frame where you feel you are ready to start your own business. I felt I was there. The conditions for me were perfect! Needed to handle my own schedule to be able to spend quality time with my two children.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In 2015 Quickbooks 4 U, LLC was born! I saw there was the immediate need from people surrounding me to learn how to work with a friendly software that covered administrative and accounting tasks. I had the experience using it and decided to offer my service as tutor, advisor and outsource bookkeeper. It really started as a second job and month after month, I began to have more clients. Next thing, I was dedicated 100% to my business.

I enjoy teaching very much and have an admin, marketing, accounting and financial background thanks to the years I spent working for someone else so this is a super advantage when it comes to my company. Not only do I teach you how to use the software, I can also provide the basic accounting foundation for you to be whole as a bookkeeper. I mostly have small business owners wanting to do their books so I encourage them to amplify their vision by reading and interpreting their financial reports. They can have more time to do what they do best and know how to maneuver their businesses to a better place.

And for me running my own business and schedule gives me the flexibility to spend time doing things that I also like which bring a work life balance!

So at the end…this is win-win relationship! My clients win, I win!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Work is not all. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. Being in the Miami area, makes it attractive for people to come and visit. When this happens, this is what I do with them. Afternoon at the beach. Hollywood Beach broadwalk is one of my favorite spots. Not only do I enjoy the breeze but I can scroll up and the down while watching the sunset and listening to live music.

There is another place I like to visit and it is Markham Park in Weston. There is a walking trail I enjoy doing while I share time with friends.

And if someone ask for a magical place, no doubt I will take them to South Inlet Park in Boca Raton. I can sit there for hours listening to the water hit the rocks. This is so relaxing.

I am definite an outdoors person.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It is not less true that even when you feel your “solo” moment has arrived, there is a wonderful push from your back believing in me more than myself! This was my husband. His faith in me to help others do their business books and his complete believe that I would be a great tutor gave me the assurance to take the final jump!
