We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabrielle Rabelo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabrielle, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
I feel a tremendous amount of happiness when I know that I have truly helped someone. Whether it’s being a listening ear or providing guidance, knowing that I am able to be there for someone in their time of need truly makes me feel a sense of wholeness. It’s honestly an indescribable feeling knowing that I am playing a small role in someone’s life yet leaving such an impact that they can carry with them into their future. It gives me purpose and continuously validates the meaning of what I do. I honestly can’t answer this question without also stating the obvious in that I also feel my happiest when I am surrounded by my loved ones. I am blessed in more ways than one to have the family and partner that I do. They can turn any heavy day into a great one.

What should our readers know about your business?
My private practice is called Peace of Mind Counseling LLC because that’s exactly what I aim to do with my clients- help find peace in their mind. I’m really proud of what I do and the fact that I can say I am a licensed therapist especially when there is such a huge demand for mental health. I currently only provide telehealth therapy but in the near future, I am so excited about opening up a private office where I can offer both telehealth and in person sessions. For now, I am still able to serve anyone in the state of Florida and accept insurance and cash pay clients. I am dedicated to guiding my clients toward personal growth. Being able to work with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with their mental health and help them overcome such obstacles is such a rewarding feeling. I strongly believe that there is “no one size fits all” approach in therapy. I tailor mine to meet the individual needs of my clients and emphasize the importance of establishing a strong rapport. I am able to practice via telehealth thanks to the advancement of technology and the many platforms available for online therapy, I wouldn’t say it was a hard journey but it wasn’t always easy- having the constant support system that I have- definitely made it easier and worth pushing through along my journey. I had to take many exams and work countless hours in different settings to be able to find my niche and fulfill my requirements for my state licensure. No matter the detours, bumps, and turns along the journey, the destination always remained true and for that I am so grateful. I believe one life lesson that we should all remember is that no matter what or who you are, helping someone else in a time of a need has such an everlasting effect and can make all the difference. Kindness has a domino effect, one that we so desperately need more of today.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my dad- Robert Rabelo, who deserves an incredible amount of credit and recognition for where I am today as a grown and independent woman. From a young age, my dad has taught me the value of hard work and has led by that example every single day for the past 31 years. He has shown me what benefits and growth can come from having a strong work ethic and how fulfilling it can be when you dedicate yourself to helping others. My dad is not an ordinary teacher, he is so much more than that and is helping shape so many lives throughout his own. I can confidently say that if you are reading this, you too may know my dad and he may have helped you in some way or another- because that’s just who he is. Being raised by him is a huge reason why I am the way that I am today. I love my work and I will never stop loving it. As my dad would agree, it is so meaningful to be able to help people and even more rewarding to see the effects of what your work can do for them- no matter how small the impact is- it’s still an impact that was left. I love you, dad!
