Meet Garrick Adams | Rec. Athlete

We had the good fortune of connecting with Garrick Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Garrick, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Sports make me happy. They’ve played a major role in my life since i was a child. Its where i found the “crowd” i would fit in with. Its where a gained confidence, and where i was always at my best. And its always a good reason to bring people together.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I started in 2019, it was just an idea to make fitness apparel for people who love dogs. So i started there and figured out the logistics of starting a brand for workout gear. I had no idea of what i was doing, but that god for “Youtube University”. It got the ball rolling. Any how, someone gave me the brilliant advice to open a gym and to help grow my brand. And that’s what i did. Today fetch is a Fitness studio in coconut grove. We offer a variety of fitness services. But what really sets it apart is the sports aspect it caters to. We offer sporting clinics in the community such as tennis and we will be adding more sports in the very near future. I think its fun new approach on how to keep adults active, while not have to do the traditional gym setting. I believe it’ll catch on. Im an optimist. This journey hasn’t been easy. Ive made a ton of wrong turns on the way. But i try to learn from my mistakes and ill continue to grow. Ive learned that if you definitely reap the benefits of the seeds you sow. So ill to put in the work because i love what i’m building, and i Get to do it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Coconut grove is definitely the place to be, and its really central to a lot of the things to do in Miami, like going to Wynwood or even the beach. (Key Biscayne not South beach! Jaguar in the grove is one of my favorite spots. So that’s a must. Also barracudas and or Jada Coles are my top choices for a fun night. Id like to think my friends would enjoy this places as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I do have a friend who I won’t name, but she knows who she is. She gave me the extra push i needed to start this journey and I learned a lot about how to execute my ideas from her. So a big shout out to that person. But more so, i am inspired and encouraged every day by family. I know that i have their love and support and that they want to see me succeed. I am very grateful for all the i get from them.
