We had the good fortune of connecting with Gayana Innocent and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gayana, what do you attribute your success to?
Happiness is the most important factor behind my success and my brand. The products I sell are personal creative things made with love and care. Once that person is gifted with my products their first feeling is happiness. They are instantly overwhelmed with joy and happiness because It is a unique thing that wasn’t expected. I can honestly say the time that I have the most fun is when I am working on my crafts. Everything comes from creativity and having that open free will to do whatever is a happy setting. Overall, I like to know that my customers are happy and that’s what makes me happy.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am currently a Junior majoring in Psychology with a double minor in Biology and Chemistry at the Florida State University. I aspire to be a Physician Assistant specializing in OB/GYN. As a child I always said I’d work in the medical field and explore different things. Being a PA allows you to be flexible with the fields. It has been a long journey getting here, I’m glad to say that I’m more than halfway there. Anyone who knows college will humble you really quick. The challenges you face can consume you but you find ways to keep going. I resort to finding peace and balance in my life so when it comes to overcoming a challenge I set goals, think positive and use my resources. I’ve learned not to be afraid to ask for help or accept it. As stress begin to pile up make sure you have something that keeps your mind at peace. For me it’s my brand. Making crafts is so relaxing it’s more of a hobby for me and not a “job”. Behind everything I make there’s a story. This is why I love my business so much.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As we know south Florida is a vibe, people love coming here to enjoy themselves and have a good time. The weather is immaculate so perfect for the beaches, highly recommend is Nikki beach, Los Olas and Miami beach. Some fun things to do are going to the different Museums in Miami. It’s a great interactive day or date night. There’s a strip where you can walk and explore different stores, grab ice cream, take pictures etc. Checkout the Oasis in Wyndwood, its free to go in, go around and grabs drinks at the tower bar, outside sometimes will have a little concert. Candle land, painting with a twist, bowling at strike 10 is fun as well. Some really good food places are Chez Katu for good patties, Aloha Miami, MILA for dinner. Food trucks are amazing, you can sit aside on the bench or walk and eat. Living here is really nice.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my very first customer. She believed in me more than I did, she really pushed me to create her product and have been supporting me ever since. I would also like to thank my friends and siblings for supporting anyway they can, whether its a simple post, purchasing, and giving money for inventory. I owe all my customers a really big thanks, I always connect with them a little personal and they’re always willing to give me create rights on their product. It means a lot to know someone loves your work so much that they trust you enough to freestyle and do whatever you want with no complaints.
